Dell Streak 7: mini android tablet test
Dell chose as the basis for the current Streak 7 Nvidia Tegra 2 platform, specifically the binuclear Tegra T20 1 GHz. In addition there is 512 MB RAM Android 2.2.2 and apps.
The Streak 7 uses the dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor with a gigahertz clock frequency. The processor is strong, 512 megabytes of RAM is not - because more would have been possible. The 11.6-Gigabyte of free space to expand via SD card to a maximum of 64 gigabytes. For photo and video recording on the back of the tablet is equipped with a five-megapixel camera. The 1.3-megapixel camera on the front is used as a webcam for video chats.
Display
With a screen size of seven inches (17.78 centimeters), the Dell tablet is two inches larger than the Streak. The resolution of the capacitive display with 800x480 pixels, however remained the same - therefore does not the picture of the touch screen as sharp and provides less detail than other seven-inch tablet with a higher resolution.
Connections, battery
Dell offers with microphone, headphone jack and microUSB only the standard ports. The battery was in normal operation by only five and a half hours. By comparison, a battery life of over ten hours is nothing special in tablets.
The Streak 7 is Dell's Streak 5 after the second attempt to break into the highly competitive tablet market. In less demanding tasks such as web browsing, flash and music playback, the Dell Streak 7 in the test had no problems. It is also compatible with almost all popular media formats - with Apple's AAC format, it can start from home for nothing. Despite Tegra 2 platform, the Tablet, but apparently his hands full with HD movies: Full HD movies (1080p) ran the test only strong jerky, with movies in HD Ready (720p) format were still smaller jerkiness. Neither properly clean HD movies ran in the popular MKV still DivXPlusHD format. This may also be the reason why the Streak 7 has no HDMI output.
When you Streak 7 up to 16 GB of internal flash memory available on a permanently installed SD card.
